INSOMNIA .. HELP =[?

for a little reason i can never tumble defunct prior to 2 or 3 AM. i arise up around 6am as well as have a bustling day with work, errands, operative out entrance home creation dinner, cleaning up ect. by a finish of a night i do feel flattering sleepy though no make a difference what time i go to bed i can’t tumble defunct prior to 2 or 3 as well as runnning off 3 hours of nap only isn’t operative for me anymore..

i do not similar to sleeping pills(personal reasons), is there any alternative ubiquitous tips any one can give me upon how to tumble defunct faster?

  1. I understand your concern about sleeping pills, but trust me, running on 3 hours of sleep a night is a lot more harmful. If you want, you can try just dyphenhydramine(Benadryl) before bedtime, but if that doesn’t work, some of the new sleeping pills are really good. Otherwise, you might need evaluation by a sleep specialist. Talk about this with your doctor and follow his recommendation.

  2. There could be many reasons u cant sleep. I used to have trouble but that was when I had come of some medication. Nowadays i still have a bit of trouble, but i have conditioned myself to fall asleep pretty fast wen i wear a sleeping mask that goes over your eyes wen your on planes etc. If you get one it will take time to get used to and not fall off during the night. but i found for me if i ever have trouble sleeping i put that on and i get a good night sleep.

    Also watch wat u eat and drink before you go to bed, waters good because it has no sugar and caffine

  3. Just play a tape of musical instrument & feel the sound that soothing to your feelings & relax. I believe you can sleep.

  4. I feel your pain. I’ve been a chronic insomniac since I was a kid, and *none* of the over-the-counter stuff works. Benadryl, Tylenol/Advil/Aleve PM, NyQuil, Sominex, blah blah blah. They either do nothing or they make me hung over. I personally use Ambien a couple of times a week, but even then, it’s not foolproof. For the times when I’m on an “I’m not going to use sleeping pills” kick, or when the sleeping pill is not working so well, there are a few things that help. First, caffeine after lunch is bad. Second, when you want it to be bedtime, turn out all your lights, lay down, and either listen to something relaxing music-wise or turn on a movie you’ve seen 300 times. (The movie thing works well for me…I rarely make it longer than 20 minutes in.) Be sure whatever you’re listening to has a sleep timer, and set it for like an hour or 90 min.

    The other thing that *sometimes* will work if you’re stressing (or just thinking) about something before you go to bed is to write down what’s bothering you in a notebook. That way, you know you won’t forget it if it’s really actually important in the morning, but it helps to get it out of your head.

    I think these work for me because I have trouble shutting off my brain when it’s bedtime.
