  1. Avoid caffeine and sugars late in the day. Get more exercise. Get off the computer.

  2. Have a glass of milk, long relaxing bath and teach yourself to meditate while lying in bed, it is really calming and before you know it you are in a deep relaxing sleep.

  3. Try doing something that makes you sleepy, like reading or crossword puzzles, and eat turkey to make you sleepy or try something relaxing like drinking hot tea (decaf).

Or a few drinks oughta put you out.

  4. Lavender.

  5. Its good that you are not taking any pills. You need to plan your daily schedule. Early to bed and early to rise. Do yoga especially the Alom Vilom for about an hour. Keep yourself cool and drink plenty of water.

  6. warm milk, and a hot bath…

  7. Hmm, exercising your mind a lot doing something you need to do but that you don’t want to do because it’s tiring. Getting good air in, changing bed sheets, getting exercise every day. If you identify the reason for not sleeping, you might determine what to do.

  8. Avoid using your computer right before bed time and do not consume caffeine at night. Try reading for a bit to tire your eyes. Make sure you do not do work in your bed so that way your mind will associate bed with sleeping rather than with work related projects. More importantly, don’t think about things you have to do the next day or concentrate on your worries when you are in bed. If you do, nothing besides prescription sleep aids will enable you to fall asleep.

I, too, avoid seeking medical help and medication for difficulty with sleeping. What I have found works best for me is doing an all-nighter or sleeping no more than 2 hours during the night. The next day I am finally tired enough to go to sleep at a reasonable hour and sleep for 7-8 hours.

  9. 1. decide what time will u really be on ur bed. be consistent.
    2. 1 hr b4 of that time u choose, dont make activities that will make u hyper, like exercising. good are: reading books, or listening to mellow music.
    3. drink milk in hot water-this will relax u.
    4. make urself comfortable – low lights, baggy shirt, air conditioning.

  11. Boy can I relate to your problem, happens to me a lot, especially when I’m stressed out. What I finally found that works for me every time is milk and a tuna sandwich, if you don’t care for tuna chicken can work as well. Nitey nite now.

  13. But,you should visit a doctor. You should not neglect it.
Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
    for getting sleep.
